If by pay, you mean grant scholarships, then yes, colleges here in the US do offer money to students. However, most money is given based on academic performance, so only those who work hard during High School are even considered for money.
And it only costs you $1,933.76 (? 1600) a year to attend college? Is that a full, 4-year university, or a community college? (are there community colleges where you hail from?) To compare, I'm looking at about $30,000 a YEAR for college.
Thats pretty damn sweet.
Being accepted by those colleges and all, getting scholarships :]
I congradulate you. many. yes.
And hoyes, nice page.
In the US they would call my school an University I believe, currently attending the third year.
Also I do get some extras like free public transport during workdays, monthly "allowance" from the government. That is based on performance though, if I get through school without too much trouble I can keep the money, if I slack too much, its considered a loan.
But seriously, 30K!?!?! For ONE YEAR, that sucks! How is anyone supposed to afford to go to a university with those kinds of prices?

Third, do schools in the USA _pay_ students to follow lessons? I have to pay ? 1600,- to my school every year to be allowed to follow the lessons :o
